So What is Stubborn Fat Anyway?

When you've tried all the usual exercising and dieting, and you seem to have a pocket or two of fat that JUST WON'T SHIFT.... You know the stuff, ordinary fat respects the rules: you over-indulge, it expands; you cut back, it retreats. Eat less, exercise more and, eventually, you will fit into your more figure-hugging clothes again.

Stubborn Fat, on the other hand, respects no -one and nothing. This is fat with attitude, resistant to even the most persuasive tactics. You can do all the sit-ups, 7am runs and no-eating-after-8pm you like and still – still – it will bulge out where you least want it.

This sort of stubborn fat can be genetic. It can be the result of pregnancy, or middle age, or stress. It can affect people’s sex lives; it can induce an irrational phobia of short sleeves. Most of all, it can mess with your head. You tell yourself you a modern woman / man, you know that you are not perfect, nor should you be. Why, then, can the thought of a changing room fill you with horror?

In the past the only option for people seeking to remove these extremely frustrating fat deposits was traditional liposuction.

What’s the difference between traditional Liposuction and Vaser?

VASER Lipo is a new and very different way to precisely and efficiently remove unwanted fat.
Traditional liposuction is quite harsh on the treated area, as it works by ‘power suctioning’ away the fat tissue. The drawback to this method is it not only removes the fat, but it will suction anything else in its path such as nerves, blood vessels and collagen. This can lead to extreme bruising and swelling, which can be quite painful. Other drawbacks to this method can include saggy loose skin, uneven results and a longer recovery period. This harsher method usually requires general anaesthesia, which of course carries its own risks.

The main advantage VASER Lipo has over traditional liposuction is the fat is isolated from the surrounding blood vessels and other tissues. So the Vaser only targets the fat, the surrounding structures remain untouched.

High frequency sound energy produced by the VASER breaks up fat on contact while leaving surrounding tissues relatively intact. The fragmented fat is extracted with gentle suction. This process gives smooth, predictable results.

This 21st Century fat removal method causes far less trauma to the body, recovery time is minimal and only local anaesthesia is required, so the risks associated with general anaesthesia are completely eliminated!

Difference Between Vaser and Ultrasonic Assisted Liposuction

The traditional form of ultrasonic assisted liposuction (UAL) worked by melting the fat before it was removed, but it used a very high energy frequency which often caused burns.

Vaser Lipo® is a refinement of this original UAL technology, and is known as Fourth Generation Ultrasound Technology. The Vaser refinements to the original technology has resulted removed practically all of the previous side effects while producing far superior results.

The precision, safety, and gentleness provided through VASER's liquefaction of fat allows for this procedure to be performed under local anaesthetic while you are awake but mildly sedated.
This is also known as "wide awake lipo," One of the greatest advantages gained through using this gentler method is that there is little to no downtime for you.

Quick, Comfortable Treatment

After a thorough check-up and discussion, your surgeon will numb up the treatment area. You are comfortable and awake throughout the body contouring procedure. A very fine cannula is put under your skin to deliver the ultrasonic energy to the fat layer. This breaks up fat while leaving the surrounding tissues - such as nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue - relatively intact. Then the fat residue is aspirated (suctioned) from your body.

Safe, Fast Procedure with a Minimal Recovery Period

No hospitalisation is required, there are no major side effects, and recovery is very fast. You can even return to work the day after your treatment if you wish! However you should avoid sports or strenuous exercise for a few days, gradually building up to your previous levels over the following week.

Am I suitable for Vaser Lipouction?

You should have realistic expectations about the procedure’s capabilities. This is for reduction of fatty pockets, it is not a weight reduction procedure, and it is not for the very overweight. While Vaser can improve your appearance and self-confidence, it won’t always match your mental ideal, nor will it cause other people to act differently toward you. You will still be you. Before you decide, think carefully about your expectations and discuss them fully during your detailed assessment visit. What if I’m not suitable for this procedure?

When you come to us, you will receive a thorough assessment, and if we feel that for any reason you are not suitable for this procedure, you will not receive it. This may not be what you want to hear, but we would never take on any one for treatment knowing we wouldn't get a satisfactory outcome for you.

This extremely safe procedure doesn't take long to perform, and you won't need an overnight hospital stay, so even though you are being looked after by a highly skilled surgeon, we can pass on the significant cost savings to you.
One area (both sides) costs €2,900, with €900 reduction off the cost of any additional area treated on the same day.
